The Alta Garrotxa Fire Committee strengthens coordination on fire prevention

The Alta Garrotxa Fire Committee, which met on 23 September 2026, continues to provide a forum for coordinating the authorities and stakeholders involved in fire prevention and management within the Alta Garrotxa Protected Natural Area.

The session covered grants and funding options for prevention work, the operational maintenance of water points, and the need for a committee to review and prioritise work on the road network.

The meeting also reviewed measures and infrastructure promoted by the Generalitat, while the Fire Service outlined its prioritisation of several Strategic Management Points (PEGs) to seek funding for specific work at these sites.

The Committee brings together county councils, Girona Provincial Council, departments of the Generalitat, the Alta Garrotxa Consortium and other organisations involved in forest protection. Its aim is to share information and advance the planning of preventive work in the area.
